Def. hustings (plural noun): the political speeches, meetings, etc. that happen before an election. –Merriam-Webster
Since last fall, The Hustings has brought together political animals of all stripes to discuss the latest fact-based political news and issues with civility and without personal attacks. Our goal is to make The Hustings a new kind of social news media site fostering free and open discussion in our left and right columns.
To spread word about The Hustings, we will begin a series of weekly hour-long discussions on the new social media app, Clubhouse (audio only, no video -- all the kids are using it) to discuss the latest political news and issues. We invite you to join in beginning Friday, August 13, at 5 p.m. Eastern/2 p.m. Pacific.
The Clubhouse app is audio-only – no need to dress up above the waist. To participate, download the app at
https://www.clubhouse.com
(or search for it at your favorite app store) … then tune in Friday and look for The Hustings Week in Review “room” to join in.
And please spread the word on your own social media sites to help us grow The Hustings into a new, civil, social news media app. You can participate in The Hustings Week in Review on Clubhouse as a speaker or in listener-only mode. We intend the discussion to be lively and casual.
